A college education is something that parents dream for their children. Getting a college degree, though, can be really costly. And with the tuition fees continuously rising, not everyone are able to send their children to college to get a college degree. The good news is that, if you are only willing to do some serious sacrifices, you can achieve your educational and career goals through a military scholarship.
Through the US Military Scholarship Program, earning a degree from one of the top and most prestigious schools in the United States without having to spend a single cent is possible. To qualify, you must provide your services and be an enlisted member of the US Armed Forces: the US Navy, the US Army, and the US Air Force for a required period of time.
The US Military college scholarships are designed to assist those who are serving or those who have served in the military to reach their educational goals. Spouses or dependents of a member of the Armed Forces may even qualify for this college scholarship.
Military college scholarships provide financial assistance in the form of cash, vouchers, tuition payments, and waivers. Here are some of the military scholarships offered by the government:
The Army College Fund – It is offered to those who sign up for the GI Bill. If you qualify for this, you will receive an addition of $20,000 to your GI Bill money to help you pay for your college fees.
The Navy Advanced Education Voucher Program – This military scholarship covers 100% of tuition, books, and other needs. This program though is designed to help those in the military to pursue post secondary navy-relevant studies or trainings. Each qualified applicant will receive $6,700 per year for up to three years from the date of enrollment.
General Henry H. Arnold Education Grant Programs – It is another military scholarship program that provides assistance to selected military dependents of active duty members, specifically Title 10 AGR Reserve, retired reserve, Title 32 AGR performing full-time duty members, and deceased members of the Air Force. This scholarship also provides undergraduate studies assistance to selected spouses of selected members of the US military.
Each branch may have different requirements and offer different benefits, but all of them are designed to give you some type of assistance to get your educational or career goals. If you are eligible for a military scholarship, you and your spouse and dependents may be able to get a college degree and build a solid foundation for your future absolutely free.
